My name is Sanchita Sarkar, and I’m the founder of Sanchi – Ek Nayi Soch. I come from a small village called Bagula in West Bengal, where sarees weren’t just clothes but memories, traditions, and stories passed down through generations. As a little girl, I would watch the women around me drape sarees with such pride and grace, and somewhere in my heart, I dreamed of doing something meaningful with that beauty. But life had its plans. I got married, moved cities, became a mother, and like many women, I put my dreams on hold. Now, in the middle years of my life, with a loving husband by my side and two beautiful daughters—Prajekta and little Priyana—I finally decided it was time. Time to give my dream a voice, a shape, and a name: Sanchi.

Sanchi is my way of blending the old with the new. It’s about offering sarees that carry the charm of tradition, but with a fresh perspective—a new thought, Ek Nayi Soch. Each saree in our collection reflects the journey I’ve lived: grounded in heritage, yet open to change. I hope that through Sanchi, I can inspire other women to believe that it’s never too late to begin again.
